Johan Vineyards resides on 85 acres of gently sloping estate vineyards in the heart of the Willamette Valley.
Adjacent to the Van Duzer corridor, the vineyards are blessed with afternoon ocean breezes and cool evening temperatures that are ideal for ripening Burgundian varietals. It is this marine influence, in combination with the marine sedimentary soils, that gives Johan Vineyards its unique terroir.
The vineyards are broken into 12 blocks that feature a mixture of varietals, clones, root stocks, slope, and soil types. This combination allows for more flexibility and choice of fruit with which to make the wines and provide fruit to select winery partners.
